The Villadangos del Paramo industrial park and the province of Leon celebrated the inauguration of a new railway branch that connects directly with the Port of Gijon. The first train, carrying 850 tons of hot-rolled coil, has arrived at the León Coated Solutions plant of the Network Steel group, improving significantly the logistics and business efficiency of the area. After its arrival, the branch line has also been immediately utilized to send finished products (galvanized coils) to the group’s plant in Aranda de Duero. The electrification of the line, which will be completed by the end of 2024, will allow its full use by Leon industries. This project, which has involved an investment of more than 20 million euros, has been backed up by several industries, including the Junta of Castilla y Leon and the Ministry of Industry.
