Oscar Heckh: the plant will produce the equivalent to the 12% of the pickled and galvanized steel imported into Spain.

The Industry Minister, Reyes Maroto, and the Castilla y León Regional Counselor, Juan Carlos Suárez-Quiñones visited the León Coated Solutions plant in Villadangos del Páramo, as a follow-up to the industrial project that will be fully operational from 2023. Oscar Heckh, president of the NSR group, highlighted during the visit that the plant will be able to produce the equivalent to the 12% of the processed steel currently imported into Spain. The plant has involved an investment of about 250 million euros, including 50 million working capital, and will have 350 direct jobs and more than 1,000 indirect jobs. The Minister, together with the Counselor and Network Steel management, all visited the pickling and rolling lines (both already operational), as well as the galvanizing one that will be operational by the end of the year. They agreed to highlight the spirit of collaboration between administrations that have supported the project and the relevance that the plant will have as a dynamizer for the entire region. They also visited the ongoing works of the railway branch that will take the railway to the Villadangos Industrial sector and that will represent an enormous logistic development for the León Coated Solutions plant and in general for the entire industrial framework of the area. Reyes Maroto pointed out that the branch should be completed within a year. For his part, the counselor Suárez-Quiñones stood out that when the aforementioned branch comes into service, the Villadangos estate “will be an industrial benchmark for the entire northwest of Spain”.
