The pre-painted line has been designed taking into account the most advanced technology at every stage of the manufacturing process. It features a double final-paint application station, an additional pre-cleaning section, an advanced waste elimination system, and mechanisms that minimize vibration on the line, ensuring great production flexibility and a product with superior aesthetic and technical finish.
Logistics
We have extensive experience in logistics, and we can offer you the best solutions according to your needs.
We guarantee reliable delivery of our coils to our customers, using road, rail, or sea transport.
Our products are sold based on Incoterms 2010.
Process Description
The pickling process is essentially the removal of scale and layers of iron oxide from the surface of hot-rolled steel by treatment with diluted hydrochloric acid. The reaction is generally a combination of a chemical reaction and mechanical separation of the oxide particles.
The separated particles then react with the acid in the bath, consuming acid and forming iron chlorides. The coil free of superficial oxide particles is considered a “pickled” coil.
The coil is subsequently thoroughly rinsed under water jets. The rinse water cascade is employed to optimize water consumption. The final stage rinse is performed with water at a temperature of 75 – 85 ° C, which allows the steel coil to dry quickly.
Subsequently, the coil passes through a hot air dryer where the hot water film dries quickly.
Finally, the pickled coil is electrostatically oiled. The oiling ensures protection against oxidation.
Our pickling line features the most modern acid recycling plant, which reaffirms our strong environmental commitment.
Cold Rolling Process
Cold-rolled steel is obtained through a mechanical deformation process of hot-rolled and pickled coils, in order to achieve a reduction in thickness and improved formability. As a result, the surface finish improves and we achieve a broader range of applications for the steel.
This is a continuous process that deforms the steel strip by maintaining the temperature below the crystallization point. The change in volume occurs in the rolling direction with hardly any deformation in the transverse direction.
For carbon steels processed in reversible cold rolling mills such as those at our facilities, we are able to reduce the original thickness by percentages starting from 30%. Depending on the target thickness, the necessary passes of the strip through the rollers are performed.
The value of this process:
The finished product obtained can be marketed as Full Hard or Annealed depending on the customer’s needs.
As main characteristics, Full Hard without annealing has low ductility. Annealing, on the other hand, allows for the subsequent forming of the steel. This latter product is obtained through a complementary thermal process that allows the steel to recover its ductility. After annealing, the steel is subjected to a light rolling (skin-pass), achieving an optimal finish.
Immersion Galvanizing Process
It is a continuous production process that begins with cold-rolled steel coils.
The process begins with uncoiling and preparing the steel coil for subsequent treatment in the annealing furnace. In this phase, the steel is cleaned and receives a thermal treatment that prepares the surface for the central process: the application of the zinc coating.
The main stage of production is the immersion of the steel in a pot of molten Zinc or Zinc/Magnesium at about 500ºC. Once the coating is applied, a cooling process of the strip follows.
To reduce the temperature, the strip passes through the cooling tower, receiving a direct application of high-pressure air. Once cooled, it is subjected to a light rolling or skin-pass until the perfect surface is achieved.
For optimal preservation, in the final step a passivation and/or oiling process is applied according to the customer’s preferences. The strip is then rewound to obtain the finished product. An inspection station at the end of the line is key to continuously analyze quality.
The value of this process:
When zinc/magnesium is metallurgically alloyed with steel, a layer of excellent adhesion and hardness is created, resistant to impacts and very suitable for exterior use, especially in humid or corrosive environments.
